A significant number of employees are avoiding co-workers because of political views, says one research group. "Not only are employees avoiding one another, but they're also having a tougher time staying focused," said Brent Cassell, a Gartner analyst. The firm, which has surveyed workers, say the office tensions over politics are at their highest level. Firms are also on guard against the possibility of workplace disruptions and arguments. In Florida, a battleground state, there's a lot of concern about rising office tensions. "I think we're going to see an interesting atmosphere over the next couple of weeks," said Heather Deyrieux, president of the HR Florida State Council.

so my company is one of these "woke" companies, but they legitimately mean it. are they perfect, nope, but they are really trying and i'd say 75% of employees they hire in are on board. but lord, the contingent that isnt.

in our town hall, someone sent the comment that we should be more like Coinbase who recently chose to be "less political" (ie shut up and code) because "it's divisive". the CEO promptly let the person know that "we do and will continue to support marginalized people, black lives do matter, if our company is one that doesn't align with your values, you can move to one that does or i can put you in contact with the board so you can either discuss your concerns about the direction i've set or apply for my job"

but i could see how this is annoying to the "other side". i worked for a midwestern company with lots of dripping all over the place - like blatant in conversations where i was sitting there at the table - attacking obama, talking about how NHL athletes are better athletes and play a more skillful sport that the NBA, etc. i was done with that place after 10 months, i left. so i do believe you have the choice to either STFU ignore it or GTFOH

One guy is mentally adrift right now because he's gone down the hole too far and I check him every time he tries to open his mouth. He's gained considerable weight since COVID and psychologically dejected right now...


One thing we are not discussing is that most COVID deniers are diabetic adjacent if not already fully there. That's just to start. They also likely take numerous prescription medications, don't exercise or eat right and may or may not have a major self destructive vice in play. All while the president has fumbled a pandemic response, forcing them to continually contort themselves into justifying his response to it. At first it was no worse than the flu. Now some of these people have watched friends, relatives or coworkers deal with getting sick and are now stumbling to align reality with the views of the cult they joined 4 years ago.

I was working at a medical office in 2008 and our office manager banned everyone from talking politics at the job b/c it was causing real problems and shyt. Couple shoving matches, loud ass arguments in the break room that patients could hear clear as day. shyt was wild

I'm in a dark blue state and my place of work is dark blue but the surrounding towns out in the hills especially are very and I cannot imagine working at some of the places out there they are always complaining at the "city people"

Not true lmfao. I'm at work right now, not true. Maybe in some other firehouses they decided against watching those networks but there is no official order from headquarters and every house I've worked in still puts the news on
