Dude at the start of the video. While I agree... this mentality (if taken to its extreme) can lead to heavy isolationism and a general nonchalance and apathy towards the struggles of others.
I see it everyday in how some people in my community view people in others.
Dude at the start of the video.
First Guy : "You're a person of color and want to be a engineer."
Me: "no" *Skips to second guy*
Mixed Guy: Mentions bw but not why it felled. And basically says you should be optimistic in life nothing tangible.
Thanks for posting though.

Most of this you figure out on your own. THings I wish somebody would've told me as a AA was that you should lie if you want a job and try to befriend people who already work at the place you want to work at most the jobs I had ever had was through networking and lying. On paper I put myself down as latino and bilinigual. Corporations here tend to hire people more who are immigrants or second/third generations citizens. They also hire woman more or effeminate men. But trade jobs tend to hire nikkas on the spot like my old roofing job.The message was very generic, but the point that he was trying to make was that allowing yourself to become paralyzed by WS and give up without even making any kind of effort towards success is not the proper response. He is speaking against the defeatist attitude that many people black walk around with.
Some might even use WS as an excuse for their personal failures and lack of ambition.![]()
