end of life care for your pets

im probably gonna get clowned for this but ive always liked rodents as pets. right now i have an albino rat (i had 2, his brother died) and hes dealt with mycoplasma toxins his whole life. most rats have it in them anyways, but i bought them from this old chainsmoking lady by the airport and im sure that didnt help their lil lungs.

im at the point where he gets enrofloxacin 10% and doxycycline basically daily. every day. hes prob got like 6 more months left.

yall ever deal with a dying pet? what happened? what did you do? i hate that i cant do more for him. hes a good lil guy. i dip my finger in some baby food and he'll sit in my lap and eat it off my finger and fall asleep.

Just make sure he enjoys his last few months with as little pain as possible. It definitely does suck but at least you're there and he's not dying in the wild or something

Right. Down here folks don’t know what the dog died of or what ailment he had. All folks know is that the dog died.

Found out my chihuahua had cancer so I put her down before she would succumb to it.

I’m not for letting them ride out through that pain until they naturally go. If there’s even a hint of some bullshyt, they gotta go to sleep.
