I don't think you could have really went wrong with either one, I'm surprised they went with Afflalo though since he can leave. Since it's time to pay LMA, Wes, Lopez, & give Lillard his extension I figured the cheaper option in Chandler (he has a team option for next year) would have been the target. Maybe Afflalo is insurence for Wes maybe leaving.

Yea, I thought Affalo over Chandler was odd considering the contract but it makes sense in terms of insurance. Plus he clearly has a chip on his shoulder. Lol, hopefully we don't whiff on both of them in the offseason. The fans over at Blazers Edge want us to add back-up/3rd pg and I'm inclined to agree. CJ really is a undersized 2 but his style of play works in Stott's system. The "1" doesn't need to be the main distributor. I wonder how much burn he'll get when it's playoff time.

I hope so. I think he believes he's a starting 2 on a contender and if Wes leaves ( I hope not), he'll have his chance to prove himself. The three games after Utah tonight are important. Hell, the next month is big for confidence.

I hear you about Batum and gaining Affalo does afford them the opportunity to roll with a big lineup of Batum at the 1 and Affalo at the 3. Blake has held up well with the minutes he's played, but you know I'm always scared about the old guys lol

Freeland is ahead of Meyers. I'm still not sold on him. I actually like Thomas Robinson but we didn't need him with our big man depth (with Freeland healthy).

They are going to have Afflalo ahead of CJ and Crabbe. In fact, if CJ, Crabbe or Will Barton had stepped up we wouldn't have needed Afflalo. CJ has been a disappointment. Will Barton stepped up in the one playoff win against the Spurs last year. That being said, our bench got stronger although our second unit will be smaller. We needed this trade.

Line up:

Mathews/Afflalo/CJ/Crabbe
Batum/Afflalo/Wright/Crabbe/Gee
LMA/Freeland/Meyers
Lopez/Caveman/Freeland/Meyers

With Afflalo, a healthy Freeland and Caveman that's a solid bench. Something that's needed for a championship run.

We have an open roster spot now but I don't think anyone is out worth adding.
