Remember, y'all, Saturday is National Cinema Day, which has 3,000 domestic locations charging just $3 per ticket for all movies in ALL formats. That's nice for the Premium Large Format screens including IMAX and Cinemark XD.

We got Spider-Man: No Way Home — The More Fun Stuff Version back in 3,395 theaters with 11 extra minutes of additional scenes. It's looking at $4.6M for the weekend and $5.8M including Labor Day.

We got another "new" wide release with Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul coming to 1,880 theaters. It'll also be steaming on Peacock.

The summer's top gun, Top Gun: Maverick, expands to 3,113 theaters, as it looks go take first place with $5M in it's 15th weekend.

Beast, Bullet Train and Super Pets, all see deductions this weekend, while still showing at 3,000+ theaters. Projections are showing $3.5M for Beast and Super Pets and $4.3M for Bullet Train.

The Invitation looks to take $3.8M from the same 3,114 theaters as last weekend. It only did $6.8M in it's debut so let's see if that $3.8M number holds up.

Jaws, the original Summer Blockbuster, sees a re-release in 1,200 theaters, mostly in IMAX and 3D formats, which is perfect with Saturday being National Cinema Day. This is the second Spielberg movie re-released in the last few weeks, joining E.T. It's looking to do between $2-4M this holiday weekend.

Jurassic World Dominion drops back down 764 theaters after it had expanded to 1,521 theaters last weekend. Maybe it can do $500K?

I see Disney still has no shame with Lightyear being shown in 40 theaters, down 5 from last weekend.

Highkey I would’ve went for Top Gun in IMAX if this theater had any earlier shows than 10pm. They’re using Jaws in IMAX for most of the day.

It was alright. It was about a shark fighting back against people breaking into the ocean. Kind of like Home Alone. I think it'll find an audience someday. The best part is the movie ended in a way that it won't be milked to death by 2 or 3 shytty sequels. Thank God.

National Cinema Day came and a lot of people went. 8.1 million people to be exact, at 3 thousand locations, across 30 thousand screens. That's just under the total weekend admissions for 2019's 3-day Labor Day Weekend (8.2 million) and higher than last year’s 3-day 7.8 million , when the MCU's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was ringing box office bells. This weekend, it was another MCU MVP, taking first place, or so we think.

A little known movie, Spider-Man: No Way— The More Fun Stuff Version, web slung into first place, with $6M. Maybe you've heard of it. This re-release actually added 11 minutes of additional content. It took in $2.2M on National Cinema Day, which was actually good for 4th place. That makes sense, considering that it was re-released on Friday, where it took 1st place with $1.75M. The numbers could change but it looks like No Way Home will be number one again for the 7th weekend, and for the first time since the weekend of January 28-30. Good job, Peter 1, Peter 2 and Peter 3.

Taking 2nd place was Top Gun: Maverick, with $5.5M. It's possible this can flip with No Way Home but this is what it is for now. Maverick was number one on National Cinema Day with $2.6M in ticket sales, which was up 25% from last Saturday. That brings it's Domestic Box Office total to $698.8M. It's expected to reach $700.3M on Labor Day. Once that happens, it'll only be less than $100K away from overtaking Black Panther for number 5 all time at the Domestic Box Office.

With $5.45M, DC League of Super-Pets, secured 3rs place, barely edging out Bullet Train. Super Pets had a super Saturday, as it grossed $2.55M, which was good for 2nd place and up 36% from last Saturday. The Super Pets have now passed the $80M mark domestically and has now grossed $161M worldwide.

You can sleep in the bed. You've earned it.

With $5.4M, Bullet Train, had to settle for 4th place, for now. It grossed $2.3M on Saturday, which was up 116% from . That was good for 3rd place on National Cinema Day. Bullet Train has now punched $85.9M worth of tickets domestically and $196.8M worldwide. It's getting there, slowly but surely.

After a default first place finish last weekend, The Invitation, with $4.7M, fell to 5th place. That was down 30.9% from it's debut weekend. Was National Cinema Day an invitation for the vampire fans to enter movie theaters? It was, actually. To the tune of $2M in blood draining ticket sales, which was up by 94% from Friday. Top five is still top five, even when you've only made $13.7M after two weekends.

1975's Jaws, a film with a disastrous production from Long Beach State dropout, Steve Spielberg, grossed $2.3M which was good for 10th place. That's impressive. You may do well to remember the name Spielberg. He could be going places. I look forward to watching his career develop.

Thor: Love and Thunder took $2.4M and has now crossed $750M worldwide.

 Nope, a film with shades of Stevie Spielberg's Jaws, grossed $1.5M, including $720K on National Cinema Day. That wasn't enough to topple Jaws' $890K though. Does Spielberg already have imitators this early in his career? Anyway, Nope has now grossed $120.1M domestically and $159.4M worldwide. Maybe Jordan Peele is not just a Spielberg knockoff?

Jurassic World Dominion grossed $455K. I thought it do near $500K and I was close. It did $220K on Saturday. That now puts the trilogy coda at $375.6M domestically. There are conflicting reports internationally, where it's worldwide total stands between $994.6M - $996.8M. Either way, it is closing on on $1B.

After 102 days in theaters and $701.2M in ticket sales, Top Gun: Maverick, has toppled Black Panther for fifth all time at the Domestic Box Office. 2018's Black Panther, with it's $700.4M gross, moves to sixth place. It took 171 days for Black Panther to break the $700M mark compared to Top Gun: Maverick's aforementioned 102. Top Gun: Maverick reigned supreme this summer, as it finished in first place on Memorial Day ($33.8M) second place on Independence Day ($6.3M) and first place on Labor Day ($1.9M).

The Tom Cruise chart topper now stands at $1.44B worldwide, which is 12th all time, behind Frozen ll's $1.45B. Avatar, which is set for a re-release, looks to be safe in fourth place, with it's $760.5M domestic gross. Enjoy the $100M+ payout, Tom. Paramount better give this man an Executive position in the company. Next up, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning. 1, 2, Ethan's coming for you. 3, 4 better lock your door.
