Another Gold Medal
I don't know about that, Machida's wrestling is pretty good, Light heavies couldn't take him down, not even rashard or tito

weidman will have to knock him out to win

then again I can see weidman winning a decision similar to how rampage did

I'll take your word for it breh, I don't know shyt about mma :manny:

Let's see which Machida shows up, the elusive killer or the elusive point fighter

With Machida, that generally depends on his opponent. If you leave openings, Machida will attack. If not, Machida will be more conservative. He will definitely need to show some aggression in this fight because if it goes to judge's (in a close fight), I doubt they give the decision to him.

I honestly don't believe Machida can finish Weidman, which is what he needs to do in order to win. Machida is very beatable. All you have to do is pressure him and you will get the decision 9/10. Plus, Machida would be a disaster as champion

why would machida be a disaster as champion, can't be any worst than how it is now

Because hes not popular nor a good PPV draw. He has an interesting fighting style that a pure MMA fan can appreciate but the vast majority find him boring Weidman a finisher and is marketable. He can appear on shows like 106 n park unlike Machida

The things weidman comes foward thowing punches, unless he does something different, he's going have openings for machida

Machida alwas did around 500,000, when he was the main ticket, only times Jones out did him was when he fought rashard, so if Weidman is a draw like he should be they should be close to a milliion buys

I would not attribute that to him. He was matched up with draws with like Evans, Rampage, Shogun, etc. They all did low number with him. That was one of the main reasons Jones never granted him a rematch. And they wont do a million buys. more like 500k-600k and half of that will be from Ronda's guest appearance. If the Chael/Belfort or Silva fight was still on this card it might reach towards a mil. That fight missing really hurt this card imo

Another thing I don't get is why they are wasting a penn/edgar fight on a shyt card that no one will probably watch.

Henderson Rua didn't even do 300,000 buys, Jones and Rua did less buys than both Machida fights and thats the only time he's ever headlined without Machida, where Machida's numbers are consistent no matter the opponent
Also Jones and Rampage did less than Machida v.s. Rampage

Jones should be a bigger draw but he isn't for whatever reason, machida's numbers have been consistant
