Oh I can guarantee you that there will be a contract signed and payouts given. And a press conference to announce it and to remind all NYers that their safety & welfare is always priority number one. Then you'll see contracted workers at various stations doing mundane sh1t like measuring the magnetic door opening and widths of the turnstiles...
And then the project is gonna drag... and drag... and drag... on and on until zero progress is made and the collective ADD of the NYC citizens kicks in and they forget all about this whole metal detector fiasco. Meanwhile, every so often a local newspaper will publish a column bemoaning the incredibly slow pace of this project, but it'll be buried somewhere in the paper that nobody fukks with, like next to Gridlock Sam's article or some sh1t.
By that time, Adams has served his term(s) and moved on to the next stage of his political life, and the company who gained the contract is a distant memory, at least in terms of the people occupying its front office.
Anyone here who tries to say this isn't how NYC operates is either a b1tch ass liar or a b1tch ass recent transplant. REAL veterans of this NYC sh1t know what's up though
