To come back from cancer and rebuild your body. And you haven't missed a beat. It's one thing to just back to play football. But to comeback and still be an ALL PRO?? That's crazy. Nothing but an inspiration. Eric Berry named Pro Football Focus' Comeback Player of the Year

With a win that is hopefully a precursor to winning the official title from the NFL, Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry has been named Comeback Player of the Year by Pro Football Focus.

Berry's return to the field for Week 1 of the regular season after being diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma was already the NFL's best story of 2015. Taking into account his incredible impact on the field, however, takes the story to another level. Not only did Berry earn back his starting role with the Chiefs but he cemented himself (again) as one of the NFL's best safeties.

Berry was already named a First-Team All-Pro by the Associated Press and was also named to the Pro Bowl. He should also expect to add the NFL's official Comeback Player of the Year award to that hardware. He certainly impressed the writers at Pro Football Focus:

Berry finished the year with an 87.7 overall rating, which ranked fifth among safeties. Berry's 85.2 coverage rating was fourth-best in the league. His performance was good enough to earn second team PFF All-Pro honors, and helped the Chiefs into the playoffs.

Berry finished the regular season with 55 tackles, 2 interceptions and 10 passes defended. He also added another interception in the Chiefs first playoff game against the Houston Texans.

This is an amazing story. Glad to see him back and playing at a high level. Could tell he was going to be special player at Tennessee.

Good to see a player that is not a attention whore( all up in the videos :lolbron:) that has a passion for the game and not the fame cause it's translated on the field.:myman:

The fact that this dude beat cancer and immediately went back to playing violent ass fukking football blows my mind, dude has balls of steel. I know if that was me I'd be chilling for a minute giving my body time to recover and would prob hang 'em up.

Well deserved. Can't imagine anyone else to win the award. They should name it after him when he retires. :salute:
