First off I want to thank you for all the music and wisdom you’ve given us over the years. Thanks for reminding me to make sure my afro ain’t flat on one side. I’m hoping to get some advice from you. This is kind of long so scroll to the bottom if you want a summary.
The day your album dropped last month, I was all over it. Once it downloaded to my phone (yes, I bought it) I was driving all around the city blasting it. So that night I met this guy. Great looking, great conversation, the vibe was good. He invited me to his place and I stayed the night. The next morning we’re being all cuddly and shyt planning the next time we’ll see each other. I was only in town for the holiday, but I was only a 3 hour drive so we talked about keeping in touch. Meanwhile I’m blasting your album the whole weekend because it spoke to my mood at the time. Loving it. Loving Phone Down, because not moment I was with this man, did I ever want to pick my phone up.
A week goes by, we talked, facetimed, you know, all that cute shyt that people do when they first start dating. I told him about this party that my friends were having in Manhattan, he said he was down, said he couldn’t wait to see me and I felt the same. I booked a hotel room so we’d have a place to sleep after, and we met up for the party.
We weren’t really feeling the party so we wandered off to do our own thing. The night ended, the next morning we kiss then say our goodbyes. Three days later I barely hear a peep from him. Just a couple of texts from the day we went our separate ways. The guy pretty much disappeared and didn't tell me why or give the impression he wasn't interested.
I was still bumping your album but the songs took on different meanings. I damn sure won’t let him ruin that album for me. But this kid loved pizza, ate pizza every other meal. Now I can’t even eat pizza without thinking of him.
shyt I don’t even know what the original question was, but I guess I just wanna know what you would do in this situation. Should I try to reach him again? Or just say fukk him and keep it pushing?
Too Long; Didn't Read: I met this guy and got sprung, listened to your new mixtape a lot while I was talking to him, now he won't call me back and the music has been the therapy. I want to still try to reach him, but after 2 weeks it seems like a lost cause
