His history is cemented. One of the first Detroit rappers ever. In the early 90’s had the streets on lock. First rapper to drop a double disc album (not 2 Pac who dropped AEOM three years later in 1995). Then started talking devil worship n shyt, and in a majority religious Christian and Islamic city like Detroit that shyt don’t fly.

Late 90’s hit and nikkas was listening to better lyrics and raps were out. Nobody was trying to hear his Kool Moe Dee ass raps anymore. He spent time beefing with Em and D12 because he’s from that east 7 Mile/Hoover near Runyon Ave area, so I’m thinking it was more so D12. Either way nobody died so he need to let that 1990’s shyt go and move on.

Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff were the first group. He was the first solo rap act to do this.

I wouldn’t say he was a cash cow, as he was nationwide on the underground scene but looked at as local to us. And the white boy blew up worldwide and his ties to the city includes some heavy hitters, so you gotta ask them.

But people have always tried to put a smear campaign on him, but it’s mostly out of jealousy the way I see it, but who knows. Em put ALL of his people on (all nikkas, except for Paul) who he came up with so I’m guessing that’s why.

Em always facing backlash for something. But I don’t remember any coming from those tapes. I don’t even remember him responding.
