two cringeworthy moments that ruined the whole show for me:

1.) cooon doggy dogg claiming that ric flair is one of "us"

2.) triple h trying to bring that WWE revisionist propaganda to ESPN, talembout the flair/Hogan feud in WCW was 10 years too late. lol. but it wasn't 8 years too late when the WWF tried to do it just two years prior?

did they skip over his TNA run? I was doing other stuff by that point.

WWF WAS ALREADY MAINSTREAM WAY BEFORE THEN.

I THINK YOU MEAN

THEY PUT THE WWF BACK ON ITS FEET.

YEP

and they did it off the back of WCW/NWO.

WCW/NWO are the real ones that put wrestling back into the mainstream in the late '90s. not the WWF.

I grew up watching Rick flair, so this was depressing to watch, but it was so puff I couldn't turn away. He was really going through it.

Didn't like it... shyt was too depressing for me... Probably a selfish and shallow take on my part, but I didn't think there was anywhere as near an in-depth look into and celebration of his career.... Mainly dealt with how fukked up his personal life was...Which would be fine in a more well rounded and expensive piece... But the whole shyt start to finish was a huge huge buzzkill... I was worried that'd be the case after seeing the promos for it

It'd be like a doc on MJ that focused primarily on his gambling addiction and the shyt that led to his divorce with Juanita and strained relationship with his kids and the murder of his pops... Which in the context of everything else made about Jordan would be interesting, but flair isn't a figure that's had that wealth of coverage

was the murder of his pops related to gambling?

Not much we didn't already know about Ric but his story should be a warning to all that you can have it all and be at the top only to still be struggling years later trying to relive your previous glory. I'm actually surprised they didn't go more in depth about his financial struggles over the years.

:hhh: Dead at the"black people feel like Ric Flair is one of us" comments by Snoop Dogg.

nikkas didn't start fukking with Ric Flair and wrestling back then gtfho. I'm young but, I know nikkas was not on wrestling like that, especially since Boxing was still in its prime..what the hell was Snoop talking about.:gucci:

Ehh, wrestling was a big deal in the community in the early to mid 90's atleast (Dwayne Johnson still eating off this fact) but Snoop went way to far giving Rick a black card.

wrestling was a much bigger deal back then, than it is now.

especially back in the '80s and such.

snoop went overboard, but ive grown numb to his coooning.

Just checked out the doc. Damn Ric really fell off.

I guess I was too young to understand girls when I was a kid watching him, but did everyday women actually gush over him? lol

Regarding the black community comments, Ric Flair's woo and name has been dropped more than any wrestler of all time in hip hop songs

The top comment in that video is "Just for this promo, Ric Flair can say the n word anytime he want lol" :russ:
