Who would blame him for their downfall?
He ended up pulling SC from their decade long mediocrity, with a few once in a generation classes of linebackers, The All Time leading rushing TD leader at USC, 3 heisman winners, and a shytload of other talented players.
NCAA sanctions and the rise of Oregon and Stanford are why USC fell off.... not cause Pete ran to the NFL after the NCAA made no mistakes about it being out for blood.
