My thought was always it was that the regular season ratings were down. Playoffs are fantastic, but I don't feel like I see this level during the regular season consistently

Mavericks had....They are allowing teams to be more physical and games have been very entertaining.
You also have huge markets, Celtics, lakers, Knicks all in the playoffs along with a mix of new stars and Bron and Steph still playing.
First round has been very good
