Spurs are a better organisation, Kobe has had the better career. Fact is the last 7 seasons Duncan has been a passenger. Not to mention that he's never successfully defended a NBA title.

And let's not forget that * on the 99 title.

Kobe's scored more points and missed more shots

what else has he done better?

Are the Spurs a better organization than the Lakers? Really?

How long has that been?

Why do you think that is?

RIght now, and since the Spurs tanked and got Duncan as the first pick they have been the better organisation. The Lakers lucked out getting Kobe, Shaq and Gasol but as far as other roster moves and coaching changes(or lack therof since Popovich has been the coach there forever) the Spurs have been superior. Look at the low first round/second round draft picks they've made with Ginobilli, Parker and Kawhi have been brilliant.

and I'm a Lakers fan but I have to call it like I see it.

Dallas by way of Houston by way of San Antonio
2 years ago kobe Bryant would have gotten 80% of the votes

Duncan has been resurrected whe kobe has had injuries

Kobe was considered the first or second best player in the league while duncan was averaging 13 ppg. People just have a what have you done for me lately mentality.

A lot changes in a couple years though. :manny: I mean Kobe's career (as a title contender) was pretty much dead to rights after 04, but that Gasol trade saved his legacy.

If we're talking about peer consideration, then it doesn't get more clear than 3 finals MVPs and 2 NBA MVPs compared to 2:1 :yeshrug: either

And you can't judge Duncan by his stats now...it's common knowledge that Pop has destroyed his stats with the minutes limitations. But when you think he's done, he drops 19 and 16 on the OKC Thunder (in OKC) to send his team to the Finals.

and Olympic Gold Medals. Ask Tim Duncan where his bronze medal is at.

Valid point right there....

Although Larry Brown played Starbury & Iverson over Lebron and Wade.

Little guards don't win gold medals.

Wasn't trying to knock duncan

I was just saying (like you said) that two years can change a lot of things

Kobe is gonna be the first guy to make an all NBA team and lose 65 games :mjlol: that's historic

The gasol trade didn't save his legacy, lakers were gonna bounce back regardless. They were gonna have a ridiculous amount of cap space

They could have had a Zach randolph/Marc gasol duo instead of pau so they actually took an L in the longterm

Aight, I gotta stop you there...the Spurs didn't tank to get Duncan, they legit sucked that season.

The spurs set the blueprint on how to tank without people raising eyebrows. They gave their top 5 scorers from the season before a paid vacation. Robinson has back spasms..then broke his leg....Sean Elliot with knee tendinitis the whole season....

Funny how all these guys came back fit as a fiddle once the tank job was over. The Spurs are some smart muthafukkers I'll give them that.

Now look at what you said...the talent level on that team was Admiral...then it drops off to Sean "Misdemeanor" Elliott.
Yeah - great organization.
