All of these Lil' Jon ESPN commercials for tonight's game are focused on LeBron James and the Cavaliers playing against "The Unicorn" Kristaps Porzingis and the New York Knicks.

This shyt is so weird to me, I feel like I'm getting old as hell. When I was finishing up high school LeBron vs. Carmelo was supposed to be the new Magic vs. Bird. It's been 14 years but still, it's just funny how things seem to change so quickly.

Melo still the best player on that team though.

according to who?
lebron was touted as the next chosen one...the next MJ....
melo never had that much clout...even when he won in college and dominated there...and should have won the rookie of the year...no one put those kinds of expectations on him.
14 years aint quick either :heh:

Yea I think Melo was the best player out of that draft the first two years out but after that bron took off:wow:

The first two years of Wade were fun to watch too.

Maybe you weren't an adult at the time. I'm talking about when they were drafted.

i was a melo fan and i never recalled anyone holding him to that lebron esteem coming into the league...people were actually surprised how good melo was out the gate...even tho his game was much more nba ready

You're misremembering breh. Youre mixing your hindsight with what was actually being talked about at the time.

ESPN even had a segment where Bird and Magic interviewed LeBron and Carmelo based on what I'm talking about. Either their rookie year or second year. Bird looked like he didn't wanna be there. They asked them who would win a 2 on 2 in their primes, Magic said they'd win because Bron and Melo were too little. Bron hesitated with an answer until Melo said he and Bron would win easily, then Bron found his confidence.

It just didn't go anywhere for obvious reasons; I'm only talking about the hype they had pre draft and for the start of their careers.

And that Popeyes gonna give you heart disease young breh. :mjpls:
