The Truth
Dependents on the job...

All back-end IT infrastructure jobs should definitely be considered essential...My whole firm for example been working remotely for a month now...Without that IT infrastructure team the business would be shutdown for the duration...I don't even want to know the amount of stress those dudes responsible for keeping that shyt running are going through...
Ehhh I’m somewhat back end I guess. Not no helpdesk type shyt but no longer doing shyt with my hands.

Basically a portion of a SOC but still a 24/7 watchfloor

All I know is VDI and server infrastructure are absolutely essential workers in times when the business is being run remotely...

They're keeping businesses running which in turn keeps the economy running...

My firm has acknowledged it, so I know our IT team bonuses are going to be good this year but at the same time I think the government should also acknowledge that if they're going to reward essential workers...
