A lot of people on this site have self hate. They think they are not black because they look different from people in west Africa.

And apparently I'm White now because I think Black people should stop separating ourselves over some bullshyt.

All the different shades and shapes of Black folk in America but I'm a racist cac because I can't immediately tell the difference between a Black American and a Eritrean.

You do know "black' people didn't call themselves that long ago? They went by different ethnic groups Igbo, yoruba, akan, somali, habesha..etc. Nobody divided anything, you may not know your group of people but others do

I'm aware of this. My point is that many of those ethic groups mostly all consider themselves "Black" in the US. No one has ever asked me if I was of eritrean or habesha descent. So how can I tell the difference? I legitimately wanted to know.

My "divided" comment was in reference to people telling me American Blacks and ethiopian/habesha/eritrean's are different racially...but no one articulating how. If you can't teach something you don't know it as well as you think.

I originally was curious as of why there is a thread celebrating these particular women, especially when the majority if not all the women in this thread are westernized to the point of not being distinguishable from an American Black woman.

I would have never lashed out if someone could have respectfully and precisely answered my questions when I asked nicely.

Sorry if I came off that way. I just wanted to know why y'all were using qualifiers like Eritrean etc. when (at least where I'm from) people would assume they are the same as us. I'm aware that before the Europeans knew Africa existed, Africa had (and still does) has it own ethnicities/races.

But what's the point of this thread when the chicks y'all posting could easily pass for Black Americans?

And I don't appreciate your insinuations that I'm some c00n or something. Most Black folks are mixed up to the point it would be pointless claiming one of the original African ethic groups. So I don't know what else to refer to myself as other than Black.
