I've heard Ethiopians, Somalians and Sudanese having ties to Ancient Egypt / Israel so I'm not surprised that their DNA is diff.

I guess you can make an argument that Ethiopians may be racist towards black american culture in the same way that a close knit nigerian/ghanian/cameroonian family can be racist or for that matter, a hispanic, indian, middle eastern, or eastern european can be racist being that our culture is ultimately different than the black american culture.

I'm not too concerned with the back and forth name calling and the discussions about where my ancestors are from etc.

To be honest, I'm blessed to be able to know about my ancestors, and I think that as a diaspora it is my responsibility to kind of find a common ground between my parent's limited scope of life and my reality being a black man in America and this racist world. Long story short, me being Ethiopian, being black, being Diaspora, African, Etc just give me additional insights into life. While some may be short sighted about a certain culture, don't blame it on hatred of self. Blame it on the fact that this is the narrative being pushed to keep us all separate.



How many of you guys knew that when Italy tried to invade Ethiopia blacks in Harlem were running up on Italian businesses?

We have so much more in common than we do different. We just need to begin the proper dialogue.

How many black americans seriously wouldn't be interested in coming to visit Ethiopia with a fellow Ethiopian friend. We barely speak the language as it is so we are learning as we go if you know what I mean.

100% propaganda, I am not surprised at all.

Kenya illegally invaded southern Somalia to "fight" a ragtag militia, however the real reason was to rob the fragile war torn country of its natural resources.

Kenya has already "rewarded" oil companies to drill offshore in Somalia's seas and threaten to take military action in order to "protect" those stolen areas.

Somalia recently responded by taking the case to the international community. Kenya along with Ethiopia know that Somalia is gradually becoming more stable, so they want to illegally profit some how.

There are lots of other black people that are Semitic. That doesn't mean that they are not Africans. And they are not mixed with anything, except other Africans.

I am pretty sure that the autosomal dna of most black people will show that they have north and east African ancestry. Some will even originate in Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, Kenya and Egypt. Some black people even have DNA from modern day Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

This is me as a kid. Im pretty sure I got some semitic ancestry in me. Not all ethiopians and eritreans have have semitic ancestry. It depends on your tribe and region.

Actually West Africans and North Africans have been mixing for a long time. It is not uncommon for West Africans to have Berber admixture and Berber people to have West African admixture. The Berbers are also mixed with Europeans and Arabs, but the Berbers are just mulatto Africans.

Many Centrally Africans (I assume that you mean Bantu) are mixed as well. They have Pygmy and San mixture.

Finally, what exactly would Ethiopians, Somali, Fulani and Eritreans be mixed with? The closest that I can find would be Yemeni people, but then again the Yoruba people of modern day Nigeria may have roots in Yemen. And the Yemeni people were at that time most definitely Black.

Yes, most Habeshas think we came from Yemen 5000 years ago when Arabs there were Jewish. Our language is South semetic like most native yemeni langauges. But its important to note that most of us have more African admixture than semitic today. So we are more African than anything else.

No ones says Ethiopians are better just because some of us have semitic ancestry from a few thousand years ago. Ethiopia is a dump and most West African countries are economically stronger than Ethiopia and eritrea, so we have no reason to think we are better than anyone when we aint got our shyt in order. Some including myself are just sayin we are still black but we are are culturally and in some cases genetically different and thats just how it is. Africa is diverse and im not gonna pretend we are all the same whe obviously s we are not. When I went Nigeria for a colleagues wedding (Hes family is rich as fuc), people told me they thought Ethiopians werent black because of our features and so most Nigerians didnt see me as African.

Well,,thats the truth. That part of East Africa has seen alot migrations. Some even think prehistoric humans left Ethiopia to colonise the whole world because the distance between HOA and Yemen is so small . The distance between Yemen and the Djibouti are in some cases is just 30 miles. Most Ethiopian highlander ethnic groups are culturally semitic thats why our languages sound like Arabic a lil. Genetically some are purer than others, some have more eurasion ancestry than other. It varies from region to region.
