Boxing is the only sport in which the sportsbooks need the favorite to win because the public is almost always on the dog looking for a long shot payout.

Totally disagree with that!

You know how many people have money on the favorite in parkways because they believe someone -1200 should be a lock in a 6, 10, 12 teamer.

Books were happy Bivols won a few weeks ago.

Rolly is now +425 and 8/1 to win by KO.

If someone is doing parlay today, I can guarantee Tank and or the Dodgers are in it.

In most sports yes but in boxing the public is almost always on the dog.

Take a look at Chavez vs Canelo. Dude got bet down from like a 15-1 dog to like 5 to 1. Look at Holyfield vs Tyson 1....Holyfied was a 50-1 dog and they got no tyson money. Look at Mayweather vs McGregor.....there's countless examples. Heavy boxing favorites almost always get bet down because the public wants the longshot payout. I'm sure @Absolut can vouch for this
