There is no denying they were black. My main issue is as black people in the new world (North/South America and the Caribbean) we also need to aknowlege and appreciate ALL of our African ancestry and not just that of Egypt.

It irks me that whenever we wanna take pride in African roots our only point of reference is Egypt and/or North Africa. What about sub-Saharan Africa? Many of us can trace our ancestry to places like modern day Guinea and Benin and Ivory-Coast or Cameroon. But some of us just wanna be "kings" so bad that the images of ancient Egypt's great civilization is the only thing they can see themselves relating to.

Anyway now that i got my rant out the way. Whites can deny and manipulate this and fool ignorant souls all they want with their Hollywood trickery but there is no denying the truth at this point. Only thing we did wrong as african is we werent prepared to fight for our land and lives when they came to conquer it and we're still here paying the price.
SOmeday, brehs... someday. We wont be here to see it but someday blacks will rule the world again :banderas:

That term Sub-Saharan shouldn't be used, nothin but an attempt to separate Egypt and the like from the rest of Africa and designate it as the place where the uninelligent mud slingin "darkies" live

Actually you are right.

I took a humanities(i think) class in university that was taught by an african professor from Ghana. I brought up that same thing and asked why do they always specify sub-saharan africa. The class was mainly about women in africa but a lot of the stuff we would read would use that term.

I guess it;s the same reason why these fools always try to separate themselves from the eastern-europe creeps :manny:

It's because black people don't know African history. Ask them to name 3 African kings and they couldn't do it, even if you included Egypt.

All the regions you named were places where African slavery was practiced. So it shouldn't be too shocking that they were denied their own history when they were denied their language, culture, and religion as well.
