Senior Contract Analyst at a hospital in the Chicagoland area.

Northwestern has plenty of brothers running offices.

St Mary's, and University of Chicago over here in Hyde park too, same thing over west by UIC.

You must be up north in Naperville or Crystal Lake.

And even if you get a job working for the man there is still a glass ceiling.

Stop begging for a job. Learn a skill and learn how to make it profitable.
100%.

You seem to be doing it well...dude I got to applaud you for following your goals and dreams.

Btw...I saw that photoset you took of Elijah Wood djing on tumblr...I did not know he got down like that...lol.

People love to throw out that "you have a worker mentality" and "start your own business" like it's the easiest thing in the world.

I haven't worked a real job in about 7-8 years because I work for myself. It's not that easy. Sometimes you have to work for someone else so you can handle your affairs, pay your student loans, live on your own. Unfortunately some of us weren't blessed the the opportunity get full time jobs out of college and make a living.

I have an ivy league degree and found getting a real job difficult.....I had no choice but to pursue my dreams.

Only fukking job I could get was at a start up working for free.....which is basically when I realized WTF am I doing, I'm basically working 40 hours a week chasing someone else's dream, I made more fukking money djing for myself. My mom was all proud talking about be glad you have job and all this dumb shyt as if working for someone for free was better than me getting paid to do my own things.

Nothing is easy when you have a pessimistic attitude though. Your reality is based on your perception breh. Individuals need to start with getting their mind right before they want to do anything else.

I hate statements like this.

It's no different than this....

It's not about a pessimistic attitude. Many of us don't come from rich families and are starting from scratch. I don't care what kind of attitude you have, that's not easy. You run into things the average person never has to deal with. I run my own business and while I'm blessed to have customers. For example, I often have to chase people down for money for services I provided for months (when I have bills).......That's not something someone who works a regular job ever has to deal with.

:usure: it was always rigged for black people
Rigged, yes but different. There was a time you can do everything right especially as a African American and success would come. Not saying you didn't have to play your cards right because you did but you had options. Today, it's like it was for Africans in the 80's where a lot of folks ain't getting in unless they go to the right schools in the right majors.
