Picture the scene:

You're lying in bed dreaming. Open your eyes, get on with the day and then....

I get dejavu alot but i don't know what it means.. :mjcry:

Does it come in blips like that random weird feeling or have you ever experienced it as one long, continuous sequence?

In movie terms is the deja vu a tracking shot or is it a quick cut that is sliced in here and there?

Feel like i've done this before, quick cut.

Next time it happens do something totally random and see what happens. Start dancing, yell, scream at the top of your lungs (unless that is your usual behavior - never underestimate a Coli breh) and see if the deja vu sensation quits or rides along with it.

depends on what you consider sleep to be

asleep to an idea, asleep to reality, asleep to a falsehood?

in theory, you can never truly be awake in totality. Stimulation and cessation are their own duality. You "awaken" to one thought at the expense of another

Happens to me a few times. Most of my dreams are about me doing mundane/regular things I'd do in real life. I guess that explains the random deja vu feelings I get sometimes.

Doesn't anyone think its a bit odd? The fact that you're awake yet sleeping and still believe it until you don't?

What if one false awakening lasted the entire day and you never knew? How would you? The implications are so immense if you think about this commonplace event and what it says about the nature of consciousness.

Row, row, row your boat...

its only odd if you think something else that you havent defined yet is normal.

I have them about 3-4 times a year. It's funny because I always (falsely) wake up as a kid or younger self in a place I used to live.

And this is gonna sound weird, but Santa and the Easter bunny are my parents. They not gay, they just always present themselves in my false awakenings. But if I had to guess, Santa is not the top he seems to be. Definitely more fluid.
