Long story short, a young dude(19) I used to coach is starting to go down the thug road. I occasionally hang with some peeps that aren't exactly on the right side of the tracks and I've heard his name come up(some good, some bad).

So I see him Saturday night walking with what I guess is his crew. So I dap him up and pull him to the side and tell 'em he gotta slow down 'cause he's moving reckless. Dude basically hit me with the shorty wanna be a thug "don't worry about me man, I know the rules". He got the size to be intimidating, so he feeling a lil untouchable, but I know he's already building some hate from older heads that wouldn't think twice to fukk shyt up.

Don't really think there's much more I can do. :yeshrug:

You did the best you could. I try to tell all the dudes younger than me that the key is to move in silence. Most of them don't know what that means though so that concept is lost on them.

You did the best you could...as least you did something. Most people wouldn't give two fukks.

Why you a thug in the first place? Playing that life just gives you an automatic stamp of danger.

On some real shyt some of us learn from others mistakes, some of us learn from our own mistakes, and some don't learn at all

Its up to him to choose his path.

Take him to a basketball game or out to eat and have the convo, timing is everything and pulling him to the side while he's with his friends isn't the best way to do it.

Damn breh, don't even got any advice. At 19 he prolly feeling him self and think he invincible. Just try to keep your eye on him and get him involved in something positive.
