Had something similar happen to me recently. Crashed my 03 accord about three weeks ago. It was in bad condition anyways already with front bumper and paint issues, and maybe even mechanical ones. i got back 7.5k, way more than i expected. upgraded to the 2013 model a week and a half back.

Yup, My first brand new car in 2011 got totaled 6 months later, and they insurance Company wasn't trying to come up off that guap, they paid off the rest of the loan and I was left with no money and had to start over.....next time that shyt happen I'm hiring a lawyer.

The insurance company gave me 2000 for the car. Strange thing is, I left something that had my phone number buried somewhere in the spare tire area.

I got a phone call from the new owner. That was crazy. I asked him how much he bought the car for. He told me he bought for 4000 dollars!!!!!! I was honest with him and I told him that I overheated the engine multiple times, which busted a headgasket and warped the engine. Dude was very disappointed.

Damn he took a major L if the car starts acting and getting played on the price.

anyone deal with their car written off?

yeah i have. if your car is paid off you get that money if not it goes to the lien holder and if you don't have gap insurance you have to pay off the rest.
