New gun owner starter kit should be a 9mm handgun and a 12 gauge shotgun. Think there are a few suggestions already in the thread.
Also make sure you get ammo. I know way too many people with a gun and 1-2 boxes of ammo for it.

I bought a CZ 97B a few days ago. Tried to shoot it, but it malfunctioned. Took it apart and pretty sure I fixed, gonna head to the range again tomorrow.

The malfunction was the barrel bushing was misaligned. Kept the spring from going into the right position and so the slide wouldn't rack

No, I'm pretty sure I fixed it. The slide wouldn't go back into position, the cause of that was the spring being out of place. I'll shoot some rounds and if things go smooth it's all good.
Im not a gun person, but i started looking into gun ownership. I hate that these racists actions made me change up on something i felt strongly about. But it is what it is...ive starting to look into the process of legally purchasing.
