if you make Al Davis decisions in Madden, they always work..
- valuing speed over everything
- over emphasis on the deep ball
- trading 1st round picks with no fukks given
- wild ass contracts just to cut players a few years later

it didn't matter what madden i was playing or the ratings , The Raiders where always competitive due to this & had a huge following online.

No, madden is shyt now for the following reasons
- there is no competition for EA
- EA, pretty much gives out the same game each year, with updated rosters and a new ( most times useless/awful) feature
- when they do "fix" things... they go overboard to levels of absurdity
and you getting negs for trying to Slander Al Davis Da GAWD

These guidelines (mostly) don't work in the latest Madden. Players aren't cars; they have to make routes and catch the football. A receiver with speed and nothing else is like a swordsman with no training. Against the layman, the swordsman will win, but against experts, he will fail. In online play I pick off players who overemphasize deep throws into coverage. Nobody trades away their 1st rounders anymore either. On the other hand, trading away anything but first rounders is popular. That said, I sign players to crazy contracts and cut them all the time.
