I use to pay $15 a week which is $60 a month, that wasn't bad. Now its $40 ($5 tip included, full haircut), which $160 a month. A $100 increase is crazy but it is what it is

If the nikka on time, dope cut, minimal talkin, hot towel, etc. Then the increase is cool.

I had to dip on a couple nikkas that increased the price but decreased the service.

Tangibles
My barbers always have had trash habits

- taking phone calls
- poor lineups
- late or no show without notice
- smelling like weed and chatty with everybody except my fukkin haircut
- demanding tips

I've gotten pretty nice with the Andis clippers over the years

You should get paid according to your service

I'm fine walking around with that my hair 2012 drake length with a clean line up

Just to get away from the bullshyt

Best thing I ever did was learn how to fade myself. Now, I started locking my hair I don’t even have to do that. Taper sides and back and edge up + beard and I’m done.

I’m cute as fukk.
I cut my own hair now, but i mostly just do a basic cut and lineup. fade seems beyond my level of skill. How do you do it?

Also pause at your last sentence.

But so do i. Maybe be myopic pov, but the barbers i know lost a good amount of clients. One being they moved. Two being they cant afford the new prices every week.

Ive changed my shyt up. I go
once or twice a month. Albeit i dont got into the office anymore. But the price for a taper and beard shouldnt be 40 plus tip.

Respect for them brothers, but nah.
If you choose not to pay I understand. But with the cost of living having gone up they should be able to make adjustments keep up just like everyone else
Miss me with inflation when these muthafukkas dont pay TAXES. Unless these fukkers work at superkutz, they dont produce a W2.

I understand the sentimental aspect of a barber and all that. And that feeling of freshness when you walk out that bytch, but its not worth the crazy prices.
they gotta pay taxes breh. They gotta do a 1099

Lowkey I want to do this. My barber is good and always remember to correct mistakes, but know how to cut your own head mean a fresh head 24/7:ohlawd:

Should I try? :lupe:

Trial and error bruh. Yes. You get better with time. Ya shyt gonna look like a bucket of neapolitan ice cream until you get good at blending, but when you master it!?… :wow:

Keep you a few hats.

They gotta. But do they now?

Ive been doing taxes as a side hustle for about 11 yrs. My moms owns a tax preparing business. And i can count on my hand how many taxes of barbers or taxi drivers (pre uber) ive done.

The owners of the shop. Sure. But not barbers.

:hubie:I am not hating on barbers getting their money. They just won't get it from me. Been cutting myself for 10 years and don't mind keeping the cash. Just rock a baldy, let it Caesar up for a couple weeks, then clear it again. Quick, no tips, no bulljiving, no getting nicked up...I will never go back.
