It's been almost a year and this album has been in steady rotation for most of 2012 for me. It's rare nowadays that albums like this have a long shelf life.

Evidence is consistent in dropping good Albums that are slept on. "The LAyover" is still my favorite but "Cats & Dogs" is close.

Best album of last year to me. This was the one album where Ev had so much on the cutting room floor. I'd really love to hear some of the songs that were meant to be on there like Make It Mine, Dynamic Duo (StepBrothers), and Nothing Left To Say, but I guess Ev said that he didn't want the album to be too heavy or dark.
The Red Carpet is one of the best songs from last year, maybe my favorite. Ev really showed he has upped his flow and lyrics and not only stand alongside heavyweights like Raekwon and Ras Kass on the same track, but his verse is just as good as theirs.
The highlights for me are Liner Notes, Strangers, The Red Carpet, I Don't Need Love, You, James Hendrix, Late For The Sky, Crash, Build & Destroy, Well Runs Dry, and The Epilogue, and Sleep Deprivation (iTunes bonus).
That's basically the whole album though. Really looking forward to the StepBrothers album this year. Evidence is one of my top 10 for sure.
I hope he and Bronson do a video for that bytch I Deserve You song off of Rare Chandeliers.

I thought he was good back then but he really stepped up his flow since the early Dilated days.
The joint with Slug and Aesop is bananas. Very underrated artist.

Evidence has put out a ton of good music in his career. Both studio albums were great.

That's the one that really got me into him as a solo artist, maybe even moreso than Weatherman to be honest. I had to go back to Weatherman after Layover and then I caught it. And I bought Weatherman the week it came out but I didn't catch it until after Layover. Layover sold me on Evidence as a solo artist.
Sid Roams did that beat too. They're very versatile.
It's almost done, if not done completely. It'll be out this year, before the next Dilated, and then comes the next Evidence solo after that. They've put some studio sessions on Twitvid. It's gonna be a dope project for sure. People have been wanting that one for a long time.
