Ex athletes, your thoughts about opposing players agreeing to show Kobe their moves?

Rest In Peace to Kobe Bryant, a true competitor if there ever was one.

The question, though. I've seen/read God Shamgod, Gary Payton , and maybe 2 or 3 guys say that during camps or all star games that Kobe would reach out to them and ask for them to demonstrate moves techniques to them early the following morning.

For those who played organized basketball at any level, why do you think the other athletes agreed?

Glove in particular was still in the same conference and showed him defensive techniques during an All Star game.

Football coaches host other coaches and let them study their defensive/offensive scheme

Their time was ending and Kobe was ascending. It’s flattering to have a player of his caliber reach out to you. Also probably nice to feel like you played a part in his greatness.

Them dudes were honored Kobe even asked them for help. So it was easy for them. Plus it gave Kobe the advantage he needed. Also, it showed that Kobe wasnt as egotistic as presented. My fav story was when Wade said Kobe hit him up and asked him for advice vs. The Celtics in the finals, because he seen how Wade ate off of them.

When I was playing as a youth, we showed each other moves during tournaments and regular park play.

When I boxed, we would feed off each other and work on things during sparring. Iron sharpens iron.

Kobe also taught dudes a lot, especially when he retired.
