Never in the history of anything punk I've been involved in has people who help promote & volunteer to work hardcore/punk shows or fests do people who help out get paid..and if they do it's because theirs left over money after paying out the bands, venue etc

The money goes to bands. The venue etc and usually the promoter gets whatever is left over. Like they should, because the booker is the one putting down a payment in the first place to book the show, fest whatever. If you hand out fliers or work the door.. You usually don't get paid lol

If your talking about white rock/punk then yes you are correct.

Black rock...not so much. There was a splintering around this time frame.

There's a subculture within punk that is really PC and welcoming to gays. So no shyt Afro punk would have a lot of black queers .. Who like punk.

And we could go that route of bringing proto Rock inthe 50s and 60s into the discussion as well considering there were bands that were more punk sounding in hard 50s and 60s Rock than Death in the 70s
