Taylor, 57, was arrested Friday evening on one count DUI and released from the Palm Beach County jail on his own recognizance Saturday.
Investigators say five hours after the crash, Taylor’s blood alcohol level was .082 and .084. The legal limit is .08.
Florida Highway Patrol says Taylor was attempting to get on to Florida’s Turnpike southbound in Palm Beach Gardens. As he entered the highway, he hit into the right side of a motor home also headed southbound. As Taylor veered right, he sideswiped into a marked FHP trooper who was parked on the right shoulder of the road.
Taylor, a former linebacker, played with the New York Giants for 13 seasons, leading them to win Super Bowl titles in 1987 and 1991. Over the years, his career has been shadowed by history of criminal cases. In 2011, he plead guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute with an underage girl. He was sentenced to six years of probation.
