It's getting to be a problem. That problem being me reading the news and getting all jealous.
Sentencing disparities really depend on the county and state. There are women who are doing NUMBERS for statutory rape in various parts of the country.
Is there a double standard tho? Hell yeah. Its largely male created, unfortunately. Society doesnt view a much older man banging a teenaged female in the same way of a much older woman banging a teenage male. Look how so many males respond to these kind of stories by calling the male a faq for getting the older woman in trouble, and how lucky he was for the experience.
To illustrate, just picture the difference in responses:
Teenage male approaches father: "dad I just banged a 40 year old cheerleader!".
*Dad gives son a high five, and cracks open a beer for him and his son to drink as he welcomes his boy to manhood*
Teenage female approaches father: "dad I just banged a 40 year old construction worker"
*Dad grabs pistol and demands to know the man's current location*
