well since it doesn't even turn on, I'm thinking it might have something to do with the power. It could have just died and you're fukked unfortunately. Lemme do some research thoughwhat would be the other problem

Always back up.
If you have a spare computer or laptop put the hard drive from the external in it and get a pen drive with a portable windows on it so you can transfer files from the drive. Or, try the freezer.
I used EaseUS Data recovery wizard software to copy off an old failed hard drive a few months ago, it's a windows only app . It took quite a while to scan the drive because it was 2TB so you gotta be patient. .. but it did eventually get all my stuff to another drive. It was the only thing that recognized the disk my MacBook nor my PC would mount it.
How much did that program cost? I only have a couple hundred GBs on it
It was 64.99 I believe. Worth it to save the stuff I had on that drive.
