Usually the ones that have a power adapter are for bigger desktop style drives. Me myself I've never seen the use for them , they arent that portable and are a hassle. I prefer to plug the usb and be about my way.

True. Guess i'd have to sell it on Ebay cause i bought it on Black Friday from Best Buy and idk if returning is an option. I'm not sure 5T comes in a wireless option though.

No.

You are never going to get that much space in a usb powered drive, well at least not yet.

5T is a lot...are you planning on hopping around with it or just having it in one place.... I have a mycloud that i use for movies and shyt but that never goes anywhere

don't really move around with it. It's for movies. It's a seagate external. I have a smaller one (1T) but movies and TV/netflix shows filled it up so i had to upgrade. I do plan on getting another in the future for music/ movie editing and such. But this is just for saving and watching movies and TV shows...

Larger drives require more power than can be output over USB. 5TB would fall into this category especially if it's enclosure isn't USB 3.0 compatible.

If you're not looking to travel with it on a regular (semi-daily) keep it and use it at home or in the office. Otherwise sell it. In this day in age don't buy any USB based devices that doesn't support USB 3.0.
