Kinda feels like he or his mgt team is fukkin up. Which maybe isn't fair bc Hollywood is Hollywood ( :mjpls:) but even that's not an excuse with what i mentioned earlier in this thread:

Like, his agent letting him down if Mamoudou Athie scoopin up all them mainstream roles, and all Damson got coming up is a Miles Davis biopic and npc voice overs for a video game. Tho, there's also the possibility/reality that he's just not a great actor.
I still don’t think he’s had much exposure to the “other” audience or the people in control of Hollywood. He said in an interview for this film that the producers and cast weren’t even aware of Snowfall.

Hmmm it was OK. There’s some typical white hero journey/savior shyt going on that made me roll my eyes. The ending definitely was a choice that could have gone a different way but even if it had there was this constant undercurrent of Joshua getting help and Sonny saving his ass. I’m just so tired of that shyt. And the music was unnecessarily loud. The more I think about it the hokier and trite the movie seems. It’s like it was written in some executive board meeting with target tropes from all the best comeback kid hit films in the last twenty years mixed with some dialogue from ChatGPT. And this is some of Brad Pitt’s worst acting. There’s one scene in particular where he’s obviously acting. Like CW level or Tubi. I was absolutely flabbergasted they didn’t reshoot that. Idris is the only real treat to watch here but I hate how they had his character overshadowed by Pitt’s. Yeah I guess I didn’t like it lol 4/10

This movie was fire. 7.5/10. The action(racing), the cinematography, the score and the acting all was A1. The story line was the standard traditional underdog/comeback sports plot, but who the hell cares.
