I honestly don't know how Whatsapp sold for that price as I didn't know they even got revenue like that. Did some number crunching last night and saw that they had an 8 million dollar investment from a 3rd party way back when. They have a 300+ million user install base, but only 45 million of that paid $1 to have the app. They say IOS users had to pay for it but I don't know one person who's ever had to pay the yearly app price. So assuming they racked in 100 million, for instance, still don't know where this 19 billion sale comes from? Someone school me please.
They eating either way thoughMake app that masks texts for data brehs

nah breh..instagram said yes WAYYYY too early.. now other companies using that and getting greedy.
that 1 bil in 2012 is at least 10x that now.
nikka its not that simple. Facebook has a billion users including you and I. You and I also use whats app...so what are you saying? All facebook wants are the users.
That 300 mill user base is what they care about and where the real money is.
they were either not savvy enough to realize or just lazy and wanted the cash out.Had they not sold they would've been THE Facebook killer.
Twitter and Instagram are pretty much the only social media relevant nowadays.

Not only that, but they paid an absurd $42 per user. This move has desperation written all over it. FB already had picture and messaging services, yet they had to go out and acquire Instagram and Whatsapp. They are fully aware that they cannot compete with the market. At this valuation, this is easy money for a long-term short.nikka its not that simple. Facebook has a billion users including you and I. You and I also use whats app...so what are you saying?
