Has Dave ever been found to use writers?
Has Dave ever been caught up in a Hollywood scandal?
Has Dave not been doing standup since he was 14?
Has Dave not been filmed freestyle riffing for hours?
Has Dave ever done a wack special?
Has Dave ever needed to be part of a stand ups camp to get credibility?

If Dave was manufactured in Hollywood then his pilots would have been getting picked up, he would have been cast in more movies, and his standup would be ungrounded filler jokes that wouldn't constantly sell out shows. Hollywood can't manufacture a successful road comedian.

Nothing wrong with what Faizon said. its facts. also, "King" is just a term. I can go with Kevin Hart being the king right now. Its just a term and its time based. Just like in sports, whoever is on top at the time.

at the same time, I have seen Dave Chappelle live many times and he is funny. I could say he was kinda manufactured in Hollywood because Chappelle had been around for a while. his early fan base was more cacs than blacks. I didnt see black people really get on him til he blew up. the first time I went to see him live we were damn near the only blacks in there. his humor was different. he was on that stoner shyt. funny as fukk tho. when he was in Half Baked, I kept wondering why he hadnt blown up yet.

Chappelle got the money from NF because it will turn a profit for them.

Kevin Hart is king of popularity not Comedy. Nothing stated by Faison was true. Dave has the receipts and quality work to hold that title. Kevin Hart is family friendly and he will never be a king of comedy because he doesn't take risks with his material.
