i notice there is an increasing rate of people that don't really fukk with or interact with family they were once very close with as kids.

i guess some of it is just growing apart and some can also be attributed to fukk shyt.

Me personally I'm still very close with my immediate family (brother, sister,etc) but some of my extended like first cousin's etc it's like we're strangers.

Haven't met or spoken to most of them in years, not even met their kids or spouse.

I guess those bonds that kept us together in those early days are no longer there and blood is not thicker than water

First off all, hilarious name. It appears you are experiencing growing up. Nothing you are witnessing is new. For families who are close, its usually held together by one person organizing everything.

On my mom side my grandmother was def the glue holding everyone together, i feel like after she passed everything fell apart. But looking back with more maturity she definitely contributed to the way things are now.

But the thought of it all is sombering just imagine your kids kids will just split apart and treat each other like strangers after all you out in to raise your family.

As i grew older I stopped associating with a lot of my family on my dad side…

And now since my father and uncle who was the backbone of the family has passed away , I probably talk with about 3 cousins on my dad side..

I really cut a lot of them off when my dad was in the hospital getting his chemo treatment and he was like nobody cares in the family unless they need a few bucks.. majority of them didn’t call to see how he doing or anything

This is true too but i think the majority of it is due to toxicity including jealousy. Cause why will anyone not maintain a bond with people they know most in a world where it's hard to trust most.
