Black Privilege
This chick i used to date was telling me about her brother (36) who lived in queens. He got into some trouble. Arrested. Caught some charges, arson and hit and run, tried to run over some lady whom he was arguing with, hit her leg with his car and kept going. Bailed out using their moms house as collateral. The pending court case had him all stressed out/ depressed so he decided he needed to get out of NY and take a break.. His sister (my ex) lives in the south. And being the caring big sister she is, she told him he could come stay with her in her guest bedroom until he got his head together enough to get back on his feet until his court date..
At the time i thought.. Who "takes a break" from life like that? The guy had a whole job working at JFK (which he quit) and kids in queens (which he just up and left) but then i thought ok, it happens i guess so whatever.. But to just leave your whole life..
So she takes him in. He stays with her maybe two months. He doesnt hustle or find work, doesnt contribute to household bills etc. Just hangs out in the guest bedroom all day every day.. Then he decides he wants another "break" (a break on top of his break) and visit the homeland Trinidad.. Big sis pays for flight. He leaves with the intention to return to NY in time for his court appearances later this month
Yesterday she tells me he informed her he has no plans on returning.He has decided to start a new life in Trinidad. fukk that case. fukk them charges. I dont know much about property being put up as collateral for bail bond but my ex tells me their mom is worried as fukk.. Hes also telling all the family in Trinidad that his sis kicked him out of her house that's why he had to fly to Trinidad. As for the possibility of their mom losing her home if he doesn't show up to court, a home he also lived in by the way as a grown man, he doesnt care if she loses it.
Family is everything.
A family member will screw you over just as bad if not worse than a stranger. A family member will fall on "hard times" and you literally save their life. And in return they will thrust a sword in your back and leave you for dead (figuratively)
