According to Paul Davis of WrestlingNews.co, a source has indicated that Paul Heyman was responsible for the booking of the Elimination Chamber match event with Shayna Baszler winning in dominant fashion. While Vince McMahon has reportedly doubted Baszler, Paul Heyman has been very high on her and Davis noted the following:

"The feeling going into the pay-per-view was that everyone watching at home already knew that Baszler was going to win and challenge Lynch at WrestleMania and it was better to just have her go through everyone to put her over as a monster heel."

Unfortunately for WWE, the match reportedly did not go over well with the live crowd and apparently a decent amount of fans left the show during the main event
They seriously thought that this match should've closed out the ppv just because it was International Women's Day.:mjlol: The ppv was really good but the IC title match sucked, and then they followed it up with the worst chamber match ever.:hhh:

Serious question: if not the women's chamber match, what else was supposed to be the main event?

They had two issues with the card. One, they made the highest profile match incredibly obvious (the women's chamber), and as a result, the show didn't actually have a main event.

shyt like that will happen when you try to squeeze in two PPVs in between the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.

Given that Taker was likely to get Pop of the Night, which he did, you could have honestly ended with AJ/Black. But since it was a nothing match,I get why you couldn't.

I would have done the Tag Elimination Chamber since crowd was very invested in Otis. Plus you get the Lince Dorado spot.

Bad execution
Lot of things on paper I see could have worked but waiting so long between entries for Shayna to just stand there didnt give heat
Especially when she squashed the girls so quick

Even in NXT when she was booked dominant she had competitive matches

I started the match shortly before Liv got in there. I dunno how it was during everything before it but cot damn those stretches in between wrestlers were too long.

I was at the show and this match was so bad and so dumb, Paul really fukked this up. Obviously she was going to win but she should of at least came out last and then choked everyone out one by one. This match sucked and it was boring and the whole arena walked out deflated/pissed. People left as soon as it was over like we couldn't wait for it to be over.

The problem with the chamber match was WWE booking like they have blue balls. They couldn't wait to book Shayna vs Becky & Roman vs Goldberg. Having both be surprise entrants would've made more sense. The main event could've been forgiven if the match was good, but the match sucked and brought down what was actually a good ppv.

There really wasn't that many fans that left like that honestly. More booing and chanting than anything. Stadium was pretty packed so it might of looked like it.
