This is dope.

But I still have to say.

When guys us beats that have already been used, and say produced by in the title, or on the track say "such and such on the beat" I find it annoying. It makes it seem like they actually got that beat from that producer, and it tends to make producers mad and hurts your chances of working with them in the future.

true.. but, its better than not mentioning them at all..

or, even worse.. tweaking the beat a little bit.. and, another producer claiming it..

The second is definitely a big sin. Some dude did that with the Sean price Barbarian beat and sold it to 50 Cent. Alchemist was pissed.

As far as not mentioning them at all, wouldn't that be preferable? When Jadakiss or Banks rapped over famous instrumentals on mixtapes, they never shouted out the producer, right? And the mixtape artwork usually didn't say who produced those tracks. I feel like that's the way to go. If you use an existing song's beat on a mixtape, don't write the producer and don't bother shouting them out. Just rap and do your thing. But I also find a lot of producer shout outs corny anyways. A lot of rappers overdo them even when they do pay for the track. I dig it when it's cleverly done, like on Recognize by The Lox or Invincible by CNN.
