In this hypothetical Theory the match is the animals know they are teams for survival.

If the 2 pumas attacked the grizzly bear and the lion went after the gorilla, then the felines would have a chance.

But if the pumas attack the gorilla, I can see the gorilla making short work of them then teaming up with the grizzly to attack the lion.
