I went to the grocery store yesterday and I saw this fat family.:flabbynsick: I'm talkin about the Mama was fat, the Dad was fat. Both of their guts were hangin almost touchin their knees.:snoop: The mom had to weigh at least 300 lbs and the dad easily weighed 300 +.

But the saddest part was that they had 3 fat azz kids. The kids had to range from 4 to 10 years of age. The lil 4 or 5 yr old girl had a big gut poppin out a t shirt that was too small, another lil girl I assume was about 8 was obese and the boy was obese as well.

Now if that's not bad enough, they had a basket filled up with nothin but junk food, any kind of sweets, chips, ice cream, cookies, tampico, sodas, processed food, u name it they had it:why: What bothered me about this is that the parents don't give a fucc about their childrens health. They seem to have no issue that their kids were obese and were on a path of destruction just as they had lived.

Not only are they settin their kids up for potential health problems, but they are settin them up for a life of scrutiny, bullying, teasing and public humiliation because of their weight! (How many Fat kids did we see cry in school growin up from bein teased)

And it got me to thinking that these type of parents should be charged with some form of child abuse/child endangerment. Like seriously. It seems like these parents are on some "misery loves company" type shyt.

I think they feel like since they are fat, then they want their kids to be fat too and join the miserable life that they live as well. So should child services step in on situations like this?

No, child services should not step in.

How are you so sure their lives are so miserable? Maybe they really enjoy eating more than anything and they want to share that joy with their kids? :leostare:

Most eating habits are inherited from our caregivers. I don't think any parent really want their children to be fat and unhealthy it's just the result of an accustomed way of eating. Most snack foods nowadays are filled with preservatives and sugar anyways so people have a hard time using discretion when choosing healthy foods for themselves much less their families.

You gotta understand Lott that these kids are growing up indoors, not outside. We didn't have computers or high-tech videos games that took the attention away from going outside playing. I don't know about anybody else or maybe I'm just old, but I forever dodged that streetlight. I didn't give a shyt. If I was in
a heavy game of kickball, dodgeball, hide and go get it, I wasn't coming in.

I think technology has hampered a lot of these kids' physical activities. Remember recess? These children probably don't even know what the
fukk that is:mindblown:

Yeah, I see this all the time, and it truly frustrates me, it's sohh easily preventable...

As mentioned earlier, the problem is a combination between people engaging in sedentary lifestyles and malnutrition.

The root of the cause seems to be to technology, inherently making civilization as a "whole" lazier...

I'm so glad I have parents that taught me healthy eating habits and a mother who taught me how to cook :salute:

I work at a sports stadium and while working an event we get a gratis slip to get basically whatever we want from the food vendors. I usually don't use my slip because its all shyt food like soda, candy, popcorn, hot dogs, sausage, fried food etc. Meanwhile all my overweight/ obese coworkers go :steviej: all over that shyt.

This new guy started working recently and the other night he's inhaling a couple hotdogs, popcorn, peanut butter cups and TWO souvenir sodas (about the same size as a big gulp). He eats like this most nights.

Later that night I walk into the room and I see him testing his blood sugar. Like this dude is eating all the shyt and he's a diabetic?

OP, you assume the parents are fat & miserable. They ENJOY that junk food in their basket while watching "The Biggest Loser" on NBC. Many parents are in denial about their kids "baby fat" until diabetes or health problems strike the kids down. :(

The govt ain't fitna hold fat kids' parents' hands (beyond M. Obama's campaign against childhood obesity). Parents get hopping mad when their kids' truancy lands them in jail or reduces their welfare benefits. If their kids' obesity warranted parental citations or cps intervention, the govt would be overwhelmed by fat, protesting parents whining about violated constitutional rights to raise children as they see fit!!!

When old enough to think for themselves, perhaps the kids will join sports teams (or develop eating disorders or discover salad) and shed weight. Perhaps not.

Big boned genes CANNOT be undone. Such folk will never be dainty.

Shouldn't even be an excuse.....it shouldn't matter how much technology is out there its up to parents to teach psychical interactions > digital interactions

I use to think my dad was tripping when he told my ass to go outside when I had rather play my video games at home....but when I think about it now in my early 20's I could have turned out like those kids with zero social skills

Oh shyt. That's scary. He is gonna pass out and see Jesus during a diabetic coma/fit WHILE AT WORK with a mouthful of sausage. I hope you know CPR. Annie, or you OK?

I would eat some stadium food. That's dinner every night! I would eat the sausage & hotdogs for dat street meat protein -- but not in excess.

Much easier said then done when your clockin in +8 hour shifts a day just to keep just to keep a decent standard of living for you and your fam on top of keeping the house in order.

Alot of parents are too drained to give a damn if most of their childrens time is spent in front of the computer or television instead of outside.
