Growing up fatherless has had some interesting effects on me, some positive and some negative. But as a grown man although I still struggle with a few issues, people often tell me that they're surprised to discover I grew up without a father.

What were some of the most difficult challenges you've faced growing up without a father?

Nothing I just lived.
There were plenty of people I knew with father's who were more fukked up than me
I'm sure I'm missing something and I think everyone should have a good father but I turned out relatively fine.

What was your mother's excuse to why your pops wasn't around?

She wasn't around either, she wasn't physically or mentally competent. He was a drug addict, alcoholic and made very poor choices. He did try though, and was a member of the Nation, I grew up on Farrakhan lectures until I was 13 years old. After that I was left to the streets. Hardest part was not having a father going into middle school and high school, I had to learn so much crucial knowledge on my own and be my own parent, including working full time and having a sublet apartment before I was 18 years old. I missed out on so much and I recent them for it. I can never forgive neither of them for that.

Probaly luck to be honest....To say otherwise is saying you've never done fukked up things,been involved in bad situations or with bad people,and how many of us can say that....If you cant say that it means you just got lucky where a lot of other people didn't.
