Ralph Ellison to me is one of the GOATs regardless of race...but he has only one book...

But Invisible Man was on some fukking Mr.Robot shyt before fukking Mr.Robot.

I could see Invisible Man being a great TV show.

Richard Wright's Black Boy.

James Weldon Johnson

Claude Brown's 1st book

William Wells Brown

Charles Chestnutt

Sutton E. Griggs

Claude McKay...

Some others, I like old negro books.

Alexander Dumas.

Fredrick Douglas said that he wore his hair like that because he was inspired by Dumas.

Many black folks, especially during the Harlem renaissance, listed Dumas as their inspiration with them associating The Count of Monte Cristo being their favorite books. The story is definitely something a lot of black people on an emotional level can relate to as it deals with a man wrongly accused and unjustly imprisioned and wronged. Given how many black men had the same story it was understandable.

Also Dumas wrote that book based on what happened to his father who was imprisoned wrongly and discriminated against after being dismissed from the French army. Napoleon did not like his father due to his popularity possibility eclipsing napaleon's among the troops.
