That smoothness. Those grooves. Those sample selections. The extra grit from the SP-1200.

The Blue Funk album joints he did for his cousin Heavy D.

Pete's sound was unlike no other. Just some good stuff.

His stuff after that era was cool, but I'm partial to his older stuff. Hard to pick favorite beats from that era because most of it was just that good.
