A continuation of my "Favorite track off a Classic or Great album" threads. Last week I covered Ice Cube's classic debut album "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted". Cubes first 2 albums are universally agreed on that they're both classics. I've never seen anyone talk down on these albums. It's considered Cube's best album, it's been called a top 5 west coast album, a top 5 album in general, & I've seen some on here call it the greatest hip-hop album ever made. Cube was at one point my favorite rapper ever, & if AMW didn't confirm it then DC sure as hell did. I love "The Predator, but the albums that followed it were just :ld: don't get me wrong, his subsequent albums after "The Predator" had classic tracks and some gems, but they weren't classic albums, some weren't even that great. If you feel like I'm unfairly judging his later albums then feel free to recommend me some tracks. No matter though, some rappers wish they could have a run like Cube's. The album continues the sharp insights & unflinching looks at contemporary urban lifestyles that AMW touched on. The album is also seen as more musically effective than AMW which I can see. The Bomb Squad sound isn't for everybody. I personally loved the production on AMW:manny: This album solidified Cube into my top 5 behind Redman, Pac, Nas, & Ghostface.:blessed:I can't choose a favorite track right now since I'm giving it a listen right now as I type to confirm my choice. What's your favorite track off this classic? & if you can, explain.

i am one of the ones who says this is the best hip hop album EVER

perfect combination of social and political dialogue, revolutionary content, street elements and a high entertainment factor. add the skits and 1 verse interludes it played out like a movie and the production is top notch, cant find 1 track that is skippable nor 1 beat that was not a head knock or supreme. and lyrically cube was at his best. quotable after quotable. only album comes close with all these same elements is 2pac 7 day theory, but i give this one the slight edge simply because cube went a level deeper politically and socially.

as far as the best track, that is nearly impossible to determine, but if i had to pick 1 song that encompassed the feel and sentiment of the album its "a bird in the hand"

beat is all time classic
cube is all time great lyrically
and the content of this song sums up a young black males struggle and thought patterns to a T
who cant relate to this song?

not mad at those who choose no vasaline, or colorblind, or tru to the game, or look who burning, or nappy dug out, or several other songs on this classic

hell you could pick black korea or horny little devil and not be wrong. imo this album is that flawless

i have listened to this album more than any hip hop album ever and still pop it in today. this album is the single reason i am what i am today, before my thorough research it was this album that started me on my journey.

flat out classic shyt.

Last time i threw this in the car a few years back...I kept repeating My Summer Vacation. That beat. And he just bodied it and told a whole complete story in one song like Cube is known to do. :wow:
So I'm going with that one :yeshrug:
Could easily be Us though :wow:
@The_Hillsta
Or No Vaseline :wow:

Album is number #4 on my list. GOAT west coast album.

Transition from "The Funeral" to "Wrong nikka To fukk Wit" = arguably the GOAT and most hype album opening ever

I'd probably pick "The Wrong nikka To fukk Wit". That first verse is one of the best ever...

"And you can New Jack SWIIING on my nuts" :pachaha:

"Down wit the nikkas that I bail out, I'm platinum bytch and I didn't have to sell out!" :salute:

"fukk you Ice Cube, that's what the people say. fukk AmeriKKKa, still wit the triple K" :whew:

"Punk motherfukkers tryin to ban hip-hop. fukk R&B and the runnin man, I'm the one that stand with the gun in hand" :birdman:

And that third verse :damn:

"Don't let me catch Daryl Gates in traffic. I gotta have it, to peel his cap backwards
I hope he wear a vest too, and his best blue, goin up against the Zulu
Break his spine like a jellyfish, kick his ass til I'm smellin shyt
Off wit the head, off wit the head I say. And watch the devil start kickin
Run around like a chicken, Grand Dragon finger lickin
Yo, turn him over wit a spatula. Now we got, Kentucky Fried Cracker
Mess with the Cube, you get punked quick. Pig, cause I'm the wrong nikka to fukk with!"

:whew:
