This is how we should be living. You can grow your own food and share amongst family. Kids have watchful eyes over them. Elders can grow old in their own homes. Property and homes will increase value. Homes passed down will build wealth. Also if beef comes you got automatic back up.

We have to move back closer together. Families are too far apart now.

If you do plan it make sure no family member can individually sell a property to an outsider. They have to sell back to family or the trust.

My wifes side of the family has this as well. They have 18 acres of land in the mountains with 5 houses. Her gramps started this whole thing to keep the family close. We were suppose to inherit one after our marriage but i said fukk all that, i aint living in no mountains. Its cool to visit though

They should be excommunicated from the compound.

In all seriousness you could put things like this in a clause. Such as if you have children outside marriage you have to move out the compound. Any criminal activity could result in getting kicked out. Pawging. Have them sign legal documents when they turn 18yrs old.

Family compounds are not a new thing. All types of ethnicities have them. But realistically, just like with owning a house, if you die there's no telling how your offspring will maintain it. They could lose it by not paying the property tax or they could up right sell it. You can talk that "pass it down to family" and "this is how we should be living" stuff all u want but ain't no telling what your offspring will do once u are dead. And I say that as a person who has seen homes that were passed down either sold because the offspring didn't care to maintain it or just needed the money or the home was lost due to not paying property taxes.

That's pretty cool. I'm to spoiled by suburbia and city living. Maybe id do something like this in Maryland but I think this is to close to be living to family for me.

Our own farm and cross would be nice though
