There are discussions on Twitter about this after last night's RAW...

I have noticed this. It was apparent last night in the closing segment.

One of the things that I think really added to the current/recent "boom period" of WWE was the audience was happy to go along for the ride - cheer the babyfaces, boo the heels.

Super babyface Sami fighting for his life to "one more time" chants for the heels would have never happened a year ago. But it happened last night. It feels like we are a long long long way removed from the WWE crowds who were booing Dom Mysterio so loud he couldn't even get a word out on the mic. Now they cheer him.

I don't think it's a good thing.. smarky crowds are the worst and their tastes will always shift. They'll boo the babyface until he turns heel, then cheer once he does it.

What do ya'll think it is that changed? Lots of theories on Twitter...some say HHHunter exposing too much via kayfabe, others say the families have been priced out of live events and it's all older hardcore fans attending again.

I can't put my finger on it quite yet but something has shifted, specifically since the segment where they booed CAWdy and cheered Cena. Everything has been shifting since that moment.

It was bound to happen eventually. It's what happens when you humanize your heels on all those docuseries.

Not only has it increased.
I think WWE fukks with it.
You got Hurricane and Noble putting their producer tags on matches.
I never knew who produced what match.
We damn near got ending credits to Wrestlemania on Twitter.
I think it’s interesting though.
I kinda fukk with it too.
Heels/babyfaces might go away.

It's cool to like heels. But it also doesn't help when your heels give the crowd exactly what they want. I will give Cena credit in that he at least calls out these fickle fans when they start cheering him. These other heels gotta learn when to pull back. That includes not encouraging them to not do sing-alongs. :unimpressed:

2 after WM shows with the smarkiest of fans and it's only one show later.
They are in Des Moines, Omaha and Dayton the next tree shows (SD, RAW, SD). It's about to be :unimpressed: status.

Weren't they in Kansas City MO last night? Far from a traditional smark town...

It's still a way bigger city than the 3 upcoming so the chance to have more of those type of fans is greater.

All I'm trying to point out is when the crowds become silent again the same people will complain about that as well.

They out priced their real demographic and it's been replaced by obnoxious MMA marks. Slowly but surely

:francis: When you have a Kratos looking cocksucker booking shows with the element of mid 90s douchebag attitude era babble, don't be surprised when the crowds that took ages to neuter come back like wearing the 45.

Also, another prime reason this is happening because the honeymoon period is dead. Pandemic had wrestling fans hungry for the physical reaction of meaty men smacking meat :dame: . I mean, you can't get that feeling at the house and 6 feet away from the ring. So the day come where the mask was lifted, the fans got on their best behavior. Instead of Trips focusing on that aspect and allowing the whole cheer/boo superhero comic steez that wrestling used to have come into fruition....he decides to:

  • Allow AEW to live rent free in his smooth brain
  • Have behind the scenes smark mark cringy shyt
  • Documentaries further exposing what was already known
  • Having these work shoot ass interviews like he's fukking Dana White
Of course you get the smarks back, and quite frankly wrestling right now deserve such shytty fans. Heads allowed it by doing the "tony fumbled" shyt, booing Bianca, and just being assheads to live up to what wrestling sadly used to be, instead of moving beyond the neckbeardom.

All in all, GOOD!

FICKLE fukkING FANS :manny:
