I've heard kidney stones are a result of improper diet / lack of exercise...anyone know if that's true? Or is it hereditary? Bad luck? Tell me:sadcam:

Too much soda/coffee/red meat + inadequate water consumption..

Drink water, everyone.

But I believe if your family members had kidney stones then its only a matter of time until you do too, regardless of your diet. :wow:

:merchant: I'm not gonna lie I joked on my dad a couple of times growing up when he had them. He use to be like  I can't wait until you get your first one I'm gonna revel in your pain.

Yeah some people are genetically predisposed to getting them, so they'll more than likely have them regardless of their diet or water intake.

Also there's two different types of stones, those caused by calcium phosphate and those caused by calcium oxalate. Oxalate stones are caused by things like cranberries, grapes, spinach, and strawberries. So even if you think your diet is good you could still be causing yourself to develop kidney stones.
